Context
The California State Parks' Junior Rangers program engages kids to learn more about state parks. The agency wanted to focus on Redwood State Parks by creating materials specific to these trees. Additionally, they wanted to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Save the Redwoods League, a non-profit that focuses on redwoods preservation.
Research
The content for the poster and guide were created through research and analyses of content on Save the Redwoods League's website. The content was reformatted to better fit children as the primary audience. Illustrations were created to match the content and create a cohesive set of materials.
POSTER
The poster was created to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Save the Redwoods League, and the partnership between the non-profit and California State Parks. The poster will be distributed in 2018 to Junior Rangers at California Redwood State Parks.
Guide
The adventure guide serves as a self guided activity for children who visit California Redwoods State Parks. The content includes facts and activities that promote preservation of Redwood trees.
